Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Fayetteville sits at 164.4 per 100K. With a population of 19,364, Fayetteville is a small town. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Should I be concerned? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Seattle it's better than expected.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
