Hey everyone, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $1,179/month for a decent place. With a population of 210K, Fayetteville is a mid-size city. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 6 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
