I work in healthcare and Median household income is $56,395, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $171,900, which is actually reasonable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely solid and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (The Heights) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
