Job market in Fayetteville for tech?

First post here. I'm originally from Cincinnati and Crime rate is something to consider — Fayetteville sits at 875.4 per 100K. Rent is about $1,179/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 9 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.
