Just moved to Fayetteville from Atlanta — first impressions

We made the move 5 ago and here are my first impressions:

Cost of living is reasonable for what you get. Rent runs about $1,179/month for a typical apartment. Weather is moderate — about 63F average.

Biggest surprise: How much I actually like it here
Biggest disappointment: Nightlife is limited

Overall, it works for our family.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

I work in government and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 6 months.

My kids love it here. So many parks and activities. Great value for the money.

Check out the Southside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is drive around neighborhoods at different times before committing. Makes a big difference.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Downtown and Midtown are perfectly safe.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 15 years and my experience is very similar.
