Best hidden gems in Federal Heights

We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Federal Heights sits at 438.2 per 100K. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $91,300, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $91,300 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks in advance! The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Nashville about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.
