Freelancing from Federal Way -experience?

Hey folks, Been living here since 2017. Rent is about $1,738/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. Any advice would be great. Looking forward to hearing from you all. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Springfield area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Eastside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Minneapolis it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from LA about 15 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..
