Living in Federal Way -the reality

Median household income is $82,144, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Federal Way sits at 336.7 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,738 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Low taxes
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Sprawl everywhere
- Poor road conditions
The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in Springfield for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The community vibe scene is solid

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
