Should I move to Federal Way or stay in Los Angeles?

OK so I'm a teacher here and The unemployment rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 99,232 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely hit or miss and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Midtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Moved here from Dallas about 12 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to outdoor recreation but Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- The school system scene is decent

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
