Raising a family in Felton -thoughts?

Hi all, Rent is about $2,164/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $117,375, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Felton sits at 144.1 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Nice parks and trails
- Walkable downtown

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Homelessness issues downtown
Looking forward to hearing from you all. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Korean places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
