Hey folks, The median home value here is around $211,700, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $211,700 on average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I overthinking this? TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Phoenix about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
