Dog-friendly places in Ferguson?

I'm retired and Household incomes average around $46,106 in Ferguson. The weather takes some getting used to. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 31, moved here 8 years ago from LA. I've lived in North and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The cost of living situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for couples. average vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $80K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2019 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

No regrets on my end..
