What Ferguson does better than anywhere else

Hello, What neighborhoods would you suggest? The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Chicago about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 6 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Boston about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely underrated and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
