Alright, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Ferndale sits at 1,338.5 per 100K. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 4.5%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 17,076 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to.
