Rent in Ferndale getting crazy

Hello, Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $492,400 on average. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I wrong here?

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is excellent in most areas.
