Alright, The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 13 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Phoenix it's surprisingly good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 1 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Riverside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The pet-friendliness scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
