Anyone regret moving to Fillmore?
Longtime lurker here, Property taxes are high but you get good services. Is this normal for Fillmore? TIA!

Came here for weather and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The school system is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Downtown for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The cost of living scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
