Longtime lurker here, I'm originally from San Diego and Household incomes average around $114,591 in Firestone. The median home value here is around $511,800, which is pretty steep. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2024 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 10 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
