Best neighborhoods in Fishers

Been meaning to ask this. Median household income is $128,141, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,491/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Would love some local perspective. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Eastside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- The public transit scene is decent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 32, moved here 10 years ago from Portland. I've lived in East and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Nice parks and green spaces
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The housing market situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for singles. average vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is average and there's always something going on.
