Most overrated things about Fishers

OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. You can expect to pay around $1,491 for rent here. With a population of 101K, Fishers is a mid-size city. Crime rate is something to consider -Fishers sits at 53.4 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
