I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $370,200 on average. The median home value here is around $370,200, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Came here for weather and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The community vibe is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to LA it's surprisingly good.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Pine Hills for 8 years. Moved from Houston for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is average - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited high-paying job options. And cost of living can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 7/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Westside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The school system scene is improving
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been in Westside for 5 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
tech is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Nightlife is limited. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 5/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 5 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
