Hi all, I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $101,518 in Fishhook. With a population of 5,461, Fishhook is a small town. Rent is about $1,784/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (East) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Denver about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is tough.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
