It's a a small town city with about 2,564 people. Poverty rate is 9.4%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Midtown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The outdoor recreation scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Austin about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

Came here for family and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The safety is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much stable but now it's better than expected.
