Alright, Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $295,500 on average. Median household income is $70,659, which feels about average for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 41,633 people. Household incomes average around $70,659 in Fitchburg. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in The Heights for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The community vibe scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 9 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
