Hey, I'm single, late 30s, and With a population of 41,633, Fitchburg is a smaller city. Median household income is $70,659, which feels about average for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What do you all think?

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Downtown) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
