Couple moving to Five Forks from out of state

I relocated for work and The median home value here is around $424,600, which is pretty steep. With a population of 19,093, Five Forks is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 19,093 people. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

No regrets on my end..

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The traffic is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great sushi places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to San Diego it's hit or miss.
