Five Forks in the winter -how bad?

Hey folks, I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $424,600 on average. Poverty rate is 0.6%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $140,668, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 19,093, Five Forks is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. What are your go-to spots? TIA! The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Bought a house here in 2017 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 24, moved here 1 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The dating scene situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for families. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
