How is Flagstaff for outdoor activities?

Been meaning to ask this. I work in healthcare and Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a smaller city city with about 76,333 people. With a population of 76,333, Flagstaff is a smaller city. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Would love some local perspective. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I work in marketing here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is average. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. No regrets on my end..
