OK so Been living here since 2020. It's a a small town city with about 6,388 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 8 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The nightlife is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for family and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The weather is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
