Housing in Flanders compared to Charlotte

Random thought, The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. With a population of 6,388, Flanders is a small town. Median household income is $91,806, which feels pretty solid for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
- Chain restaurants dominate
Does this match your experience? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Riverside area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
