Cheapest neighborhoods in Flat Rock?
OK so I work in insurance and It's a a small town city with about 10,418 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Flat Rock sits at 169.6 per 100K. Median household income is $73,288, which feels about average for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.
Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Good schools
- Lots of new development
- Strong sense of community
Cons:
- Lack of diversity
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
Would love some local perspective. TIA! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
