Been meaning to ask this. It's a a small town city with about 4,860 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Any help is appreciated. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 10 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The healthcare is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a physical therapist, 27, moved here 4 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Oak Park and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The community vibe situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for remote workers. average vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $40K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is challenging in most areas.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Riverside area are underrated. Kids love it here.
