Best kept secrets of Flora Vista, NM

OK so I'm retired and Poverty rate is 11.7%, which is around average. Homes are going for about $195,200 on average. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Great weather
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited nightlife
- Lack of diversity
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
Any advice would be great. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 15 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
