Couple moving to Floral Park from out of state

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 30s, and The median home value here is around $754,300, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $2,429/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What are your go-to spots? Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
