Random thought, I'm originally from Albuquerque and Median household income is $50,396, which feels on the lower side for the area. The median home value here is around $174,100, which is actually reasonable. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for Florence? Looking forward to hearing from you all. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cultural scene scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Charlotte it's better than expected.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely decent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Eastside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
