Housing market in Florence right now

Curious what people think. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely tough and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Old Town) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The cultural scene is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much manageable but now it's solid.
