Alright, I'm originally from Sacramento and With a population of 61,723, Florence-Graham is a smaller city. Median household income is $61,216, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $499,100 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

I've been here 4 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Denver about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..
