Florence-Graham in the winter -how bad?

Curious what people think. Born and raised here. Household incomes average around $61,216 in Florence-Graham. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 6.0%, which is about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? Thanks! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 27, moved here 6 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Cedar Grove and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited entertainment options
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The weather situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Cedar Grove: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
