How is Florence-Graham for outdoor activities?

Born and raised here. Household incomes average around $61,216 in Florence-Graham. Median household income is $61,216, which feels about average for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 61,723 people. You can expect to pay around $1,475 for rent here. The median home value here is around $499,100, which is pretty steep. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do? Looking forward to hearing from you all. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from San Diego about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Uptown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The public transit scene is tough

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..
