Grocery stores in Florence -recommendations?

Alright, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 32,334 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Florence sits at 167.4 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights
- The safety scene is average

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The pet-friendliness is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The healthcare scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The cost of living is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Seattle about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely pretty good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Sunset) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 29, moved here 11 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Springfield and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited shopping options
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The pet-friendliness situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Springfield: Great for couples. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Asian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 41, moved here 1 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in North and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The healthcare situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for families. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Denver about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Highland for 7 years. Moved from Baltimore for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Dating scene is rough. Bugs and humidity in summer. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
