Is Florence good for remote workers?

OK so We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Florence sits at 185.1 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Would love some local perspective. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Sunset area are underrated. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
