Life in Florida Ridge as a young professional

Hey folks, Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. Household incomes average around $64,956 in Florida Ridge. Crime rate is something to consider -Florida Ridge sits at 440.9 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Has anyone dealt with this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Chicago about 7 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The school system is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
