Flower Hill housing prices -when will it stop?

Hello, You can expect to pay around $2,284 for rent here. The median home value here is around $1,849,800, which is pretty steep. It's a a small town city with about 4,793 people. Household incomes average around $250,001 in Flower Hill. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Diverse community
- Easy commute
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Limited dining options
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Uptown) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 54, moved here 12 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Westside and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The school system situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for young professionals. decent vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
