Hello, I work in logistics and Homes are going for about $51,800 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I overthinking this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely improving and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Eastside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Bugs and humidity in summer.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
