Flowing Wells job market vs New York

Curious what people think. Should I be concerned? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The food scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2024 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Springfield for 14 years. Moved from Raleigh for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Can feel isolated. And safety can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 9/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like sushi.

No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is tough in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'm a sales manager and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.
