Working in Flushing -salaries realistic?

Longtime lurker here, My partner and I are Poverty rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
