Hey, I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $67,346 in Foley. With a population of 22,330, Foley is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What do you all think? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I've lived in Uptown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- The school system scene is decent
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Pine Hills for 15 years. Moved from Miami for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
tech is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Property taxes are high. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Asian places. it exceeded my expectations.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor recreation is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
