What to expect moving to Folsom?

Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and With a population of 82,140, Folsom is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Folsom sits at 102.6 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely average and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (North) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
