Housing in Fond du Lac compared to Minneapolis

Just moved here 12 months ago and Homes are going for about $161,300 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Fond du Lac sits at 312.0 per 100K. Rent is about $905/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $905 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Diverse community
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Limited nightlife
- Limited dining options
- Lack of diversity
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Am I wrong here? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I'm a electrician and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
