Remote worker thinking about Fond du Lac

Alright, It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

No regrets on my end..

I work in marketing here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to LA it's pretty good.
